Carters Lake

The lake was almost dried up last year. Good to see it’s making a comeback.

July 4th Fireworks

The itty bitty town of Tallapoosa put on a fanstastic fireworks show on the 4th of July.  I took over 300 pictures and the show lasted a good 40-45 minutes.  If you’re ever near western Georgia on Independence Day you need to check it out.  You won’t be disappointed.  I’ve included a couple of my pics here.

The Birds of Lake Carroll

Lake Carroll in Carrollton is a haven for flocks of Canadian Geese, ducks, and other waterfowl.  These are some photos taken from one of my visits to the lake.

Mother Goose

Canadian Goose drying off feathers

The geese flocked to the water to preen their feathers.  This looks like a picture of flight, but the geese would actually just flap their wings and stroll a little ways across the water.  I guess they were just trying to dry out the feathers and get them all oily and shiny again.
