Some relatives of mine and I went to Juliette Georgia to eat at the Whistle Stop Cafe on Saturday. Juliette is very small town on the Ocmulgee River and is very picturesque. We did have Green Fried Tomatoes and Vidalia Onion Rings. We have eaten both of the dishes when in season for years. Juliette is a lovely place to visit if you are passing through.

The lake was almost dried up last year. Good to see it’s making a comeback.

I’ve always loved this field, which is located on Highway41 right on the Bartow/Gordon line. Today the light was good and the sky was great.

Scenery in Middle Georgia

There was an old mill on a large beautiful lake outside of Rhine, Georgia. The mill is no longer there, but the folks around here still call it the Mill Pond. Cypress tress are the homes for a wide variety birds and other animals. It use to be open to the public for guided tours. It was wonderful for field trips. The scenery and wildlife are gorgeous!

Springer Mountain

I took a trip up to Springer Mountain, which is the southern terminus for the Appalachian Trail. The weather was perfect!

Dogwoods

The dogwoods are in bloom all over Georgia. The pink and white mixture can be simply breathtaking.

The Edge of the World

Scenes from the little known waterfall near Dahlonega aptly named “the Edge of the World.” As we trekked in we met a professor with textbooks and samples in tow coming from this haven from the outside world. This is a great place to go.
