Here are a couple of photos my dad took recently. The deer at Berry aren’t too afraid of people, as the campus is a deer sanctuary.

My dad took some nice photos of Mirror Lake, near my parents’ home in West Georgia.

The town of New Echota was made the capital of the Cherokee Nation in 1819. It was here in 1835 that the Treaty of New Echota was signed, which gave up all Cherokee lands in Alabama and Georgia. Only three years later, the Trail of Tears started.
New Echota is located just north of Calhoun, and I spent a couple of hours there today.
Here is a link to the entire set of photos.

I walked up the street this evening and got a photo of this beautiful maple tree. Fall colors are a little unusual in the south because about all that ever happens is the leaves turn brown and die. We’ve had a few cooler days and nights this fall so I think that’s the reason for our colors.

My dad and I did some photowalking and driving around Rome, GA on Saturday. Here are some of the results.

I had the pleasure of spending some time in Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, and Gordon Counties earlier today. Here’s how things are looking.
