Standing 1,023 feet, the Bank of America building in downtown Atlanta is the largest building in the U.S.A. outside of Chicago or New York City. It was recently sold for 436 million dollars.

The Braves are playing much better lately, and I got to attend their victory over the Florida Marlins on July 26th.

UPDATE!! – I think I need to stop doing this. They have lost 5 of 6 now!
The Braves are in the middle of a losing streak, so I thought I’d turn to one of their past heroes for some good luck. Warren Spahn is one of the greatest pitchers in history, and his great statue is right outside Turner Field.
Go Braves!

Ted Turner Started the Cable News Network in Atlanta in 1980. This is the inside of the building taken from the food court between CNN Center and Phillips Arena.

The Braves aren’t off to a great start so far, but they’ll probably get going once it warms up. I took this last season, and the batter is Andruw Jones.

Turner Field opened for the Braves in 1997. It was built for the 1996 Olympics and then it was converted for the Braves. This photo was taken from the building I work in.

Georgia’s most famous street, right in the heart of downtown Atlanta. I especially like the Go Thrashers message on the sign!

Atlanta’s National Hockey League team, the Thrashers, are named after the State Bird of Georgia. They are fighting for a spot in the NHL playoffs, and I attended several games this season. They play at Phillips Arena, which replaced the Omni.

I have a few pics of Atlanta. These are a view of Centennial Olympic Park as viewed from the entrance to the Georgia Aquarium. The first shows some of the skyline of Atlanta. The second pic has the CNN Center in the background.

Margaret Mitchell was the famed author of Gone With The Wind. This picture is of the house where her downstairs apartment was located. The other picture is of her typewriter she used.

I currently live in Kennesaw, which is about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta. I took this from the top of Kennesaw Mountain, and you can see the Georgia Dome in the center.

I took a trip last week to the Georgia Aquarium. It’s still a very crowded place to be since it opened a few months ago, but it has some great exhibits. These are a couple of my photos from the aquarium. I hope you enjoy them.

Georgia’s Capitol Building was completed in 1889. The gold for the dome comes from the north Georgia area near Dahlonega.
