Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteThe Ogeechee is a real treasure. It is one of the few unspoiled rivers we have left, and I grew up about 10 miles from it. These photos were taken by the Highway 119 Bridge, just north of Guyton.
Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteI got to spend most of the day out at the beach. The weather was perfect!

Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteI took this back in December during the full moon. I am really enjoying getting to know the new camera.
The only editing I did was a crop.

If you haven’t been up to Fannin County lately, I highly recommend it!

Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteIt was a tough decision, but I decided to sell my Canon XTi SLR camera. It was awesome, but I just don’t have the time to learn all the advanced features. Here are a few shots from the replacement.
It’s been a cold and rainy day, so I only took a couple.

And here is the new camera.

Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteI’m late posting these, but I got some great pictures this past summer.
Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteLiterally! They just finished a new parking deck at Kennesaw State, and I drove to the top to take a few photos. They are now building a new dining hall and health services building. They expect to have them done next fall.
Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteSome relatives of mine and I went to Juliette Georgia to eat at the Whistle Stop Cafe on Saturday. Juliette is very small town on the Ocmulgee River and is very picturesque. We did have Green Fried Tomatoes and Vidalia Onion Rings. We have eaten both of the dishes when in season for years. Juliette is a lovely place to visit if you are passing through.

Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteThe lake was almost dried up last year. Good to see it’s making a comeback.

The itty bitty town of Tallapoosa put on a fanstastic fireworks show on the 4th of July. I took over 300 pictures and the show lasted a good 40-45 minutes. If you’re ever near western Georgia on Independence Day you need to check it out. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve included a couple of my pics here.
Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteLake Carroll in Carrollton is a haven for flocks of Canadian Geese, ducks, and other waterfowl. These are some photos taken from one of my visits to the lake.

Mother Goose

Canadian Goose drying off feathers
The geese flocked to the water to preen their feathers. This looks like a picture of flight, but the geese would actually just flap their wings and stroll a little ways across the water. I guess they were just trying to dry out the feathers and get them all oily and shiny again.
Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteI’ve always loved this field, which is located on Highway41 right on the Bartow/Gordon line. Today the light was good and the sky was great.

Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteThere was an old mill on a large beautiful lake outside of Rhine, Georgia. The mill is no longer there, but the folks around here still call it the Mill Pond. Cypress tress are the homes for a wide variety birds and other animals. It use to be open to the public for guided tours. It was wonderful for field trips. The scenery and wildlife are gorgeous!
